Masjid Omar Ibn Al-Khattab is a historic mosque in Madinah, located southwest of the Prophet’s Mosque. It faces the Quba Road on the west and is close to Masjid al-Musalla (also called Masjid al-Ghamama) on the north.
It is believed that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed here on special occasions. The mosque is named after the companion Omar Ibn Al-Khattab because he also prayed here during his time as caliph. The mosque has been renovated many times during the Saudi era.
