The Kaaba and Masjid al-Haram

The Kaaba is covered with a black cloth called the Kiswah. Muslims face the Kaaba when they pray, no matter where they are in the world. This direction is called the Qibla.

Madinah is also called the “City of the Prophet” because Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) lived here and spread the message of Islam.

Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (The Prophet’s Mosque)

In the center of Madinah is Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the Prophet’s Mosque. It is one of the biggest and most important mosques in the world.

The mosque was first built by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself. Over time, it has been expanded many times to welcome millions of visitors.
