Madinah Railway Station – Historic Railway Landmark and Museum

Madinah Railway Station is an iconic historic site built during the late Islamic period, featuring distinctive architectural elements. The railway project took approximately seven years to complete. The first train arrived in Madinah on the 22nd of Rajab, 1326 AH (August 23, 1908 CE). This station was part of a railway line extending about 1,320 kilometers from Damascus to Madinah.

The railway service experienced interruptions during World War I and permanently ceased operations in 1339 AH (1921 CE). During the Saudi era, the station was restored and transformed into a public railway museum in 1419 AH (1998 CE), preserving this important piece of transportation history.
