This place is located west of Makkah, just east of the western boundary markers of the Haram, on the old road between Jeddah and Makkah. It was built in 1361 AH (1942 CE).
This public water fountain, called a Sabil, has many water openings. It is one of the largest charitable fountains built by King Abdulaziz Al Saud.
It is the only fountain at the start of the road to Makkah, helping travelers who are coming to or leaving Makkah.
