Al-Khayf Mosque – A Historic Mosque in Mina

This mosque is in the Mina area, near the small Jamarah (stone pillar). It is named after the Khayf of Banu Kinana, a place where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stayed during the Farewell Hajj.

Because it is in Mina, it is also called the Mina Mosque. The mosque was expanded and renovated in 1407 AH (1987 CE) during the rule of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This was done to help serve the large number of pilgrims who visit each year.
