According to Hanafi School, Ifrad enjoys a preference over Tamattu. For many people, it is difficult to perform it because in that case the Ihram which is put on at Miqat is worn continuously till the formalities of the Haj have been completed, and, not only the common people, but the devout servants of Allah find it hard to conform to the restrictions that go with the state of Ihram for such a long time. Such acts are committed by them, due to ignorance, or inadvertence, which are not allowed during the period of Ihram-Poshi (i.e., wearing of Ihram), and the purity of the Haj, thus suffers an impairment. This is the difficulty with Ifrad because of which it is better for the bulk of the pilgrims to follow the course of Tamattu. For you also the advice is the same.
Such being the case, when you decide to put n the Ihram either on the ship or after disembarking at Jedda, wrap one sheet of it like a loin-cloth and wear the other one like a shoulder cover after taking a bath and cleaning yourself thoroughly.
